I was sent this screener a few weeks ago and I finally made the time to watch it. As you can see…it’s called WALKING WITH HERB.
WHAT’S THE MOVIE ABOUT?
Joe Amable-Amo (Edward James Olmos) is a bank executive and former amateur golfer struggling with his faith after an unexpected tragedy. Faced with doubts about himself, his purpose, and his belief in God, Joe is stunned when God tells him that he’s been chosen to inspire the world and play in a world championship golf tournament. Guided by God’s eccentric personal messenger, Herb (George Lopez), Joe learns that the seemingly impossible is possible…through faith, family, and second chances.
WHAT DID I THINK OF IT?
I liked it. I really did. Now. I’m not going to lie. When it first started…I thought it was going to be one of those “faith”, “religious” movies that was going to try and shove something “one sided” down my throat. (I’m seen screeners like this…not my style.) 😉
But…I was WRONG!! It was nothing like that. It was a really, really feel good movie…and I have to say…with everything that’s going on with certain people and this pandemic…we all could use some good ole’ positive mojo in our lives, right? Even if it’s just for an hour and half…something’s better than nothing, right?
I really enjoyed the cast. I thought everyone did a great job. It was cool seeing some of the old school cast I was familiar with. George Lopez was my fav. There’s this bank conference meeting scene that happens…George Lopez was hilarious.
WALKING WITH HERB is definitely a family movie and totally worth the watch. I even got a little teary-eyed…and I totally wasn’t expecting that!! 😂
If you decide to check it out – let me know what you think. OH! Another thing…don’t watch the trailer. It gives away some stuff. I really want you to get kicked in the gut like I did. Twice! 😂
