THE OAK ROOM (2020-21) Review

Just the other night I finally made the time to watch a screener for a movie called THE OAK ROOM.

Now keep in mind…when movie folks send me over screener info…I usually like to watch the trailer. I either watch 1/2 of it or all of it depending on the how the movie feels. But for this one…my movie pal April sent me this…just this little, tiny blurb…

During a raging snowstorm, a drifter returns home to the blue-collar bar located in the remote town where he was born. When he offers to settle an old debt with a grizzled bartender by telling him a story, the night’s events quickly spin into a dark tale of mistaken identities, double-crosses and shocking violence.

…and my reply to her was, “No trailer I see. No trailer to watch. Cool. It’s like Vegas!! I’ll take that gamble…send over the movie!”

…and she did…and well…

I thought THE OAK ROOM was a great movie. From start to finish. The opening snow scene with the music in the background…for me…it this Quentin Tarantino vibe to it…the whole movie did. ๐Ÿ™Œ

THE OAK ROOM is directed by Cody Calahan, written by Peter Genoway and stars RJ Mitte, Peter Outerbridge, Ari Millen, Martin Roach, Nicholas Campbell, and David Ferry. I’m not going to lie…the only dude I recognized was RJ Mitte from BREAKING BAD…he was Walter White’s son in the series.

Either way, I thought the entire cast did awesome!! They all pulled me into their drama and their story telling was spot on.

That little, tiny blurb…MISTAKEN IDENTITIES, DOUBLE-CROSSES AND SHOCKING VIOLENCE is right. The movie’s got it all and it’s totally worth the watch. Yeah, I know I’ve been “hush, hush” about a lot of the movie but…I just don’t want to give anything away. ๐Ÿ˜‚

THE OAK ROOM hits selected theaters and On Demand tomorrow, Good Friday.

Hey. It’s a Good Movie to watch on Good Friday. Ya like that? ๐Ÿ˜‚
