Last week, I was sent the digital screener for the upcoming film, SPONTANEOUS. Last night, when the boys and wifey went to sleep I made a cheese and potato chip sandwich, jumped on the couch, grabbed the iPad and pushed play…
WHAT DID I LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE?
I freaking loved it! I thought it was a great, great movie and totally, totally worth the watch. 👍
Within 47 seconds…SPLAT! or is POP! Either way…it wastes no time in getting started. It was so cool and hilarious. 😂 16 minutes into this movie and I was already thinking, “This is going to a great movie.” AND it was.
I loved all the characters (high school kids). Katherine Langford as Mara and Charlie Plummer as Dylan were perfect. I thought their chemistry was spot on. Are they dating in real life? 😂 Hayley Law as Tess (Mara’s best friend) was great. Her and Katherine’s scenes together were hilarious and sometimes intense. Are they best friends in real life? 😂 Yvonne Orji as the special agent and Rob Huebel as Mara’s dad. Hilarious. I mean seriously, all of the cast were great. (too many high school kids to mention)
Director Brian Duffield. I thought he did great with the all the shots of the movie. Everything just flowed in an entertaining way. The score of the movie was dope as well. Every scene had the perfect tune. Kinda like STRANGER THINGS…the perfect score will always take a movie/series to the next level for me.
ET scene. Still hilarious. (even though it’s in the trailer)
Doctor’s questions…that whole scene was hilarious.
I do have to warn y’all…when this movie POPS off…you better get ready for a roller coaster of emotions. One of my favorite scenes was the graveyard and that’s all I’m going to say about this. 😊
Oh and one more thing…
Whoever came up with the idea of putting The Hooters “And We Danced” in the movie…YOU. ROCK! *high 5*
WHAT DID I NOT LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE?
DAMN ANXIETY!! !😂😂😂
See, I found myself liking these high school kids and well…they freaking popped!! 😂😂😂 You just never knew when it was their time. Hell, it felt like I was in the movie. 😂😂😂
Like I said before…I thought SPONTANEOUS was a great, great movie. It’s got everything…comedy, drama and horror…a perfect mix of everything.
I give SPONTANEOUS a 5 out of 5! A must see in my eyes. 🍿 SPONTANEOUS in theaters October 2 and On Demand October 6.
P.S. In the movie, there’s “government oopsie” and well…it totally reminded me NOT to take the first round of Covid-19 vaccine. Nope. Not going to do it. 😎
