An aging rock star (Moore) and a contemporary art dealer (Coogan)—Susanna and Beale are too self-involved even to notice their neglect and inadequacy as parents; their fight for Maisie is just another battle in an epic war of personalities. As they raise the stakes by taking on inappropriate new partners, the ex-nanny Margo and the much younger bartender Lincoln (Vanderham and Skarsgård), the shuffling of Maisie from household to household becomes more and more callous, the consequences more and more troubling. Always watchful, however, Maisie begins to understand that the path through this morass of adult childishness and selfish blindness will have to be of her own making.

Franck Adrien (Albert Dupontel), a bank robber convicted of a heist and sentenced to 6 months in prison, shares a cell with seemingly weak Jean Louis Morel. But once Morel gets released from behind bars, Adrien learns that Morel is really a sadistic serial killer who now knows private details about Adrien’s life. Adrien must break out of prison and catch Morel before he gets to Adrien’s family…and before France’s elite police detectives hunt Adrien down.

THAT’S some serious action.

The first official trailer for their upcoming film, DON JON.  In his directorial debut, writer-director Joseph Gordon-Levitt also stars as Jon Martello—a New Jersey guy who loves his family, his friends, his church… and his porn. When he meets Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson), a perfect “dime” with an infatuation with romantic Hollywood movies, they struggle to find happiness while wrestling with their respective ideals of what the opposite sex should be.

Julianne Moore, Tony Danza, Glenne Headly and Brie Larson also star in this insightful and unexpected comedy about searching for true intimacy in a world full of unrealistic expectations.

A 21st century Jack the Ripper set in the present day, MANIAC is a reboot of the cult film considered by many to be the most suspenseful slasher movie ever made. Frank (Elijah Wood, in a tour de force performance) is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates and the number of victims increases, it becomes clear that Frank is far more dangerous than he seems. With a pulsating electronic score by Rob, the film is an intimate, visually daring, psychologically complex and profoundly horrific trip into the downward spiraling nightmare of a killer and his victims.

I’m excited for this one. This the 2nd trailer for the film and Elijah Wood. TALK ABOUT FREAKY. May 21 is the big day. I just might have to search for this one on iTunes. (lol)

As LA’s Summer Blockbuster Destination, CityWalk Gets the Party Started

Inviting Movie Buffs to Park for $2 Bucks

WHAT:

Universal CityWalk celebrates its 20th birthday with a blockbuster-worthy bash that drives flashy street racers from Universal Pictures’ “Fast & Furious” films to park at CityWalk in time for the much-anticipated movie opening weekend and the launch of the summer blockbuster season.  A life-sized wax figure of Vin Diesel from Madame Tussauds Hollywood will also share the spotlight with the “Fast & Furious” cars.

A retrospective of eight original, souped-up prop cars, including three from “Fast & Furious 6” will be staged at “5 Towers” on CityWalk to help get the birthday party started.  With an exciting slate of blockbuster movies poised to reign over Hollywood this summer, Universal CityWalk will become LA’s blockbuster movie destination where guests can join the fun and see the latest hit movie for only $2 in parking or ‘Movie Buffs to Park for $2 Bucks.’

The arrival of an elaborate 20-tier cake, punctuated by confetti canons and a lively Happy Birthday rendition from the popular band, Midnight Red, will keep the momentum going. Midnight Red will also headline CityWalk’s free “Summer Music Spotlight” concert series at “5 Towers,” beginning June 29.

Advance screenings for the pre-Memorial Day weekend blockbuster will begin with “Fast & Furious 6” at 7:15pm, 10pm and midnight with crowds of enthusiastic fans.

The following “Fast & Furious” cars will be on display as part of CityWalk’s 20th Birthday Bash. (Note:  All but the “Fast & Furious 6” “Flip” cars will return to their original display areas at Universal Studios Hollywood beginning on Friday, May 24, where guests can view them with the purchase of a general theme park admission ticket.)
