Siblings Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde) are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances–a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). DEADFALL…this movie was actually suggested by my good friend @TheVRO…and honestly…if it wouldn’t have been for her…I probably wouldn’t have seen this. (lol) DEADFALL is a really good movie people. Did you see the cast? Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, Charlie Hunnam, Sissy Spacek, Kate Mara, and Kris Kristofferson. NOT GOING TO LIE…every time I  heard Kris K talk…I thought Blade was going to pop out! Ok, some of ya’ll got it. (lol)

Right when the movie starts…POW! Something happens right in yo face. Totally caught me off guard. Eric Bana is ruthless is this movie. Gangsta. There were times I hated him…then I liked him…then I hated him all over again. (lol) Olivia Wilde – HOLY SMOKES. She’s soooooooo hot. Guys…and some of you girls…get ready for some ‘sexy time’ scenes. (lol)

Oh, and I’m not forgetting about Kate Mara – even though she’s in a cop uniform…in the snow…the entire movie. She’s still hot too. I had a chance to meet her at Comic-Con in our booth…MORE hot in person and when I spoke to her…totally cool.

Just watch the movie. DEADFALL’s worth the watch.

The newest animation in the Resident Evil series, RESIDENT EVIL: DAMNATION, comes out with a vengeance following the adventure of our video game hero Leon. To keep it familiar, it stays just as the video game calling the virus Las Plagas and having the setting be out in a foreign land. Each segment plays out just like it would in a video game.

Something had to get done or accomplished in a certain way to be able to move on. Even if the viewer is not playing, it feels like they can. It begins with a wild revolutionary city in Russia and continues strong revealing infected enemies coming one after another. From Leon being captured and stranded with out weapons to teaming up with radicals trying to over through the government. This keeps growing in action. They increase in difficulty and only add to the intensity of the involvement of the viewer. One o the most exciting thing to see is that it brings forth most of the creatures from the video games. Creatures that are clearly not human but still posses many of those human features that cause a spook factor. The creatures keep the radicals pinned down and Leon on his toes as he is the only one, until Ada shows up, that ha encountered these creatures before.

Ada gets introduced early and in her video game fashion is vicious, witty, and enticing. They travel through the city discovering that the government is not behind the infection but rather the radicals are and are trying to control them with a serum that will leave them infected. The ending to the film and the final infected creatures are very satisfying.

I give this 4 out of 5 Popcorns. It’s a good length at just over an hour and a half. It’s strong for a straight to DVD release, strong enough to match up with the fifth live action film.

Racism collides with corporate greed when nine strangers are trapped in a Wall Street elevator, and one of them has a bomb. They will do anything to survive.

ELEVATOR goes nowhere. The story seems to be as stuck as the actual elevator was. There is really no reason as to why the elevator was stuck it just was. This story has many holes and not much of anything.

The comedian in the story wasn’t funny. Saying cheesy joke trough out the story with not one of them being funny. The story moves extremely slow. It feels like a 30 minute short was stretched to its hour and a half time. None of the characters are really likable. There is no reason to care for any of them. The further the movie progresses the less actually happens. There’s a bratty girl whom could have possibly been the main attention of the story but fades away half way through the film. She has much to do with the beginning of the story but after a while just stays in a corner. A discontent older female could have taken the lead but she too loses steam. Although contributing to the main part of the story by having a bomb strapped to her. Yes the main part comes half way through the film when it is discovered that there is a time bomb on the elevator. Drastic measures are taken to resolve the problem but nothing really goes well with that. There’s not much to do when trapped in an elevator. The owner of the building is trapped in the elevator a well and for having such an important person on an elevator with a bomb, no one seems to really want to help. The bomb scare and all scares through the movie never seem to really amount to anything. The fake scares never really seem to grow to anything.

ELEVATOR tries to stimulate any kind of reaction out of an audience with no real results. There is absolutely no real terror or thrills in this film. There could have been such a psychologically thrilling plot, but there is so much left untouched. This movie I would skip if I could.

I give ELEVATOR… 1 out of 5 popcorns. Not much horror, no suspense, and not many thrills.

1979’s ALIEN probably has to be one of my favorite sci-fi movies. Have you seen it? For those of you who have…you know what I’m talking about. BUT…for those of you who haven’t…YOU ARE MISSING OUT. Hey, Halloween’s right around the corner…might be time for a movie night.

Let me give you the scoop about ALIEN in case you’re still on the fence.  Ridley Scott’s the director…so you already know it’s going to be good. Ok…the movie’s about a space crew who are on this mission for the ‘Company.’ One day or night…whatever space is. They wake up from their hibernation sleep…what waked them up? A distress signal from a nearby planet. Of course they fly to investigate…once they arrive on the planet…they find a few things…including some weird looking pods. Unfortunately a dude named Kane finds out the hard way…that these pods have something in them. The crew decides to bring him on board to save his life…and well, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. So if you haven’t seen it – I’m stopping right there. I can’t allow myself to ruin anything else for you.

This movie is pretty great. The way Ridley Scott captures everything is awesome. For the film being made in 1979…it still holds its ground in 2012. One of my favorite parts in the cat scene. Just as the cat sees…WAIT! NO MORE. BYAHAHAHAHAHA. Just rent the movie people.

I give ALIEN… 5 out of 5 POPCORNS!

For seasoned actor Eric McCormack, the role of Terrance Shade was one of the most challenging of his career. Appearing in virtually every scene, it was both a physically and emotionally demanding role for McCormack. As a busy psychiatrist, Terrance is struggling to adjust to life as a widowed father whose main concern is the safety and well-being of his young children.  The children, as well, must come to grips with having lost their principal caretaker, a fun-loving and devoted mother and, at the same time, get closer to a father they’ve never truly bonded with.

“One of the interesting things about Barricade,” notes director Andrew Currie, “is you are never really sure what’s real.  What he’s seeing, at a certain point, he realizes is possibly not quite true. So, that becomes really exciting.”

A holiday in the mountains is an opportunity for the Shade family to accept their tragic loss and start anew.  Little do they know they’ll all be tested in unimaginable ways. Apart from their fun-filled first night at the cabin and a snowball fight the following morning, the family experiences events that would frighten the most fearless.  The harrowing ordeal they are faced with, and ultimately survive, forces Terrance to overcome his fears and truly understand what it means to be a parent.
