I checked out Johnny Depp’s THE RUM DIARY the other night on Netflix…some of you are probably saying, “Mike…I never heard of this one.” – - – yeah, what I noticed last year – quick TV spots and then a brief theater release.

If you’re a Johnny Depp fan…ya might wanna make some time to watch this one. THE RUM DIARY’S takes place in the 1950s – - Johnny Depp plays this New York writer…who likes the alcohol some and moves to Puerto Rico to write for this crazy, run down newspaper.

He pretty much thinks he’s going to have an easy job…while writing on his ‘novel’…but…that doesn’t happen. He meets and falls for this hot chick played by the sexy Amber Heard….who happens to have this jealous, powerful fiancé (Aaron Eckhart). So not only does Johnny Depp get mixed in with all that…there’s a lot of alcohol, drugs, corruption, comedy in this movie. Johnny Depp’s great as usual…I really think he’s the only actor who can just say one line and it be hilarious. Giovanni Ribisi’s in the film as well – - – this dude is awesome. Cracked me up.
