I had the chance to watch THE MUPPETS last night. Now…let me start off by saying…when I first saw the trailer for the film’s release…first thing that came to mind… “This is going to be a cheesy musical and I won’t be watching this on the big screen.” The only Muppet film I watched was 1979’s THE MUPPET MOVIE – yep…that long ago. See, I’m a HUGE fan of the TV show…but once they started making movies…it got cheesy for me…don’t ask me why…it just did… wasn’t the same as the TV shows.

…but after watching THE MUPPETS on Blu-ray…THE MUPPETS rocked! (LOL)

The movie’s about two brothers – Gary (Jason Segal) and Walter (a Muppet) – as kids…they were hardcore fans on The Muppets Show…years go by…the show ends…they grow up (well, Gary does) and they get the opportunity of a lifetime…to VISIT The Muppets Studio (like a Universal Studios tour).

Once they get there…the place is all run down…rumor has it – The Muppets Studio is being turned into a museum. Sounds great, right? WRONG!! Walter hears the REAL truth (not going to tell you how he finds out)….Oil millionaire Tex Richman has other plans…little do the Muppets know…in a couple days…if they don’t raise 10 million dollars and renew their lease – Tex Richman is going to buy and demolish the studios. He wants the oil that’s under the building!!

So Walter shares the news with Gary and his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) and they are determined to find Kermit the Frog and tell him the horrible news…you could say the ‘Map of the Stars’ really do come in handy. (LOL) Once Kermit  hears the news…there’s only one thing they can do – get the gang back together for one more show…a Muppet-Telethon!!

THEY NEED TO RAISE 10 MILLION DOLLARS AND THE CLOCK IS TICKING!

They jump in the car and head to Reno…next stop…Fozzie the Bear. (LOL)

THE MUPPETS is a really good movie people. You can definitely watch it with the whole family. I found myself laughing throughout the movie…I even get a little ‘teary-eyed’. What I really liked about THE MUPPETS was…I got that feel of the original TV show…with the real celebrity cameos…to the celebrity guest FOR the Muppet-Telethon. It is a musical – and I’m not going to lie…I found myself humming along. (LOL) I got the 3-Disc Combo pack –  so make sure you check out the special features. (LOL) You have to watch ‘The longest Blooper Reel Ever Made (in Muppet History – we think)…talk about funny and other thing…PAUSE the movie. Just pause it and watch what happens…I’ve never seen anything so entertaining and hilarious.

I give THE MUPPETS… 4 out of 5 POPCORNS!
