Mike Movie Review: MAN ON FIRE

I just finished watching 2004’s MAN ON FIRE…yes…it has to be my 100th million time watching this Tony Scott/Denzel Washington masterpiece. (lol)

A wave of kidnappings has swept through Mexico, feeding a growing sense of panic among its wealthier citizens, especially parents. In one six-day period, there were twenty-four abductions, leading many to hire bodyguards for their children. Into this world enters John Creasy, a burned-out ex-CIA operative/assassin, who has given up on life. Creasy’s friend Rayburn brings him to Mexico City to be a… bodyguard to nine-year-old Pita Ramos, daughter of industrialist Samuel Ramos and his wife Lisa. Creasy is not interested in being a bodyguard, especially to a youngster, but for lack of something better to do, he accepts the assignment. Creasy barely tolerates the precocious child and her pestering questions about him and his life. But slowly, she chips away at his seemingly impenetrable exterior, his defenses drop, and he opens up to her. Creasy’s new-found purpose in life is shattered when Pita is kidnapped… – MAN ON FIRE Facebook page

This movie is sooooo damn good. I was actually going to watch one of my many, unopened DVD’s on my TV stand but nope! Denzel and this awesome cast sucked me back in. (lol) I watched the whole damn movie.(lol) I like a lot of Denzel movies but I have to say…this has to be one of my favorites. He was perfect in this. Oh and we can’t forget about little Dakota Fanning – she was amazing!!! Christopher Walken – just awesome and he had very little lines. (lol)

If you haven’t watched MAN ON FIRE yet – – you are missing out. If you have already – – well, then you know what I’m talking about…and hopefully agree. (lol)

MAN ON FIRE definitely gets 5 out 5 popcorns from me!
