Mike Movie Review: KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD
Just finished watching Guy Ritchie’s KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD.
Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
WHAT DID I THINK?
I REALLY enjoyed it. A lot! See…I’m a fan of Guy Ritchie’s movies. Sooooo when I heard he was making HIS version of King Arthur – I was pumped.
Loved the cast – I definitely recognized a lot of people. Charlie Hunnam as Arthur, I liked. Jude Law as the bad guy, I liked. Soundtrack was dope! I enjoyed seeing the Guy Ritchie ‘fast talking, fast moving’ film shots like in his past movies. I thought the whole story was different and cool. The special effects worked – – I didn’t expect to see as much magical creatures I did – – that was cool. Action scenes were dope…I even got a little teary-eyed in some parts.
If you like fun, action flicks – – watch it!
If you like Guy Ritchie flicks – – watch it!
