My 12 yr old buddy, Lil Jose watched another more and here’s his review…
“This Spider-Man reboot is basically the same story line except with a few characters added and a few not mentioned that were in the first movie. It focuses on Peter Parker, a disrespected and bullied 16/17 year old who just wants to fit in at school. He has been trying to deal with the death of his parents since the age of about 7, since then he has stayed with his aunt and uncle. During school he gets beat up trying to save a bullied person, not knowing that it would lead him to meet Gwen Stacy who is played by Emma Stone. One day he finds a leather satchel that used to belong to his dad that was preserved in his basement to keep safe. Peter later finds a classified file and a picture of a scientist with his dad in the bag, confused by this new information he goes on Google and finds out the scientist was his dad’s partner, Dr. Curt Connors and goes to Oscorp, which is where his dad used to work. While there he meets Gwen who is teaching a group and explores the science lab only leading to him find a nest of spiders and getting bitten by one of them. After a while he starts adapting to the spider powers he has obtained and helps Doctor Curt Connors with his regrowth cure. But when his Uncle Ben is shot and Dr. Connors is on the loose with a nasty surprise, he has no other choice but to put on his spidey suit and gear up so he can be prepared for one of his first epic battles.”
“For this movie I had higher expectations than the first Spider-Man because the story line looked a bit deeper and darker, like it was a different side of Peter Parker we barely started getting used to in Spider-Man 3. The re-boot barely made my expectations because first of all the villain wasn’t as bad as he was described. Second, there was a bit too much drama between Gwen and Peter, luckily the funny moments make up a bit for that excessive drama. Lastly, at the end of the movie it focuses more on the minor characters than Peter and is a bit too predictable. Other than that I thought this movie was a success and I can’t wait for the sequel in 2014. My rating is 8.4/10 despite my excitement from last night after the movie.”
